Pokemon cards were first released on October 20th, 1996 by Nintendo. At first they werent too popular but overtime they became a massive hobby for many. Over the years they realeased maany sets that were mostly based off whatever new Pokemon game was being realeased that year. The cards would feature all sorts of different Pokemon that you could find in the games. At first that cards were more for fans who would want to collect creatures from their favourite game and be able to battle other people with their cards in the real world. Most people loved the hobby purely for the collectability and the joy that it brang people.
Later on people began to collect the cards as a way to make money. Most of the older versions of cards became very collectible and could fetch some pretty absurd prices.
